Melanie has always had a love of horses, travel and adventure. Growing up with a German mother who loved to travel she has visited many countries over the years. Having empathic abilities she has always felt a strong connection to all living things especially animals and trees as well as her ancestors but her spirit feels most at home in the company of horses. She is at her happiest when roaming through the forest on horseback, hiking or mushing with her dogs, and is completely mesmerized by the northern lights. A strong love of equine photography, her work has been displayed in a gallery showing at the Salida SteamPlant’s “Cowgirls of the West” photography exhibit. She enjoys healing with herbals, growing and making medicine in the traditions of her Grandfather. Travels have brought her to Alaska where she now makes her home. Although she’s had a career mostly in the operations side of business her creative side is always aching to get out and work with the horses and dogs, draw, photograph, journal, create and explore. A Gypsy at heart but rooted firmly in Alaska, she hopes to help others connect to nature through travel, adventure and horses, while documenting their explorations with journaling and photography.
